Listen To "Belong"
I remember hearing this beat initially and I passed on it for a couple weeks, didn’t write to it, just put it to the side. Not because I didn’t like it, it was just so different and I wasn’t sure exactly where I could take it.

THE STORY BEHIND "BELONG"
Then I started vibing it again and the juices cane flowing out. Probably my favorite tune on the album production-wise and vocal-wise. It’s got this ambient beauty to it with simple, but catchy percussion. It inspired my hook very quickly. I mumbled the melody like I usually do and I just felt like this was a song about finding home, an epic journey...and the lyrics followed effortlessly.

I love everything this song stands for. Finding the light, accepting change, keeping hope as you are on a mission to find where “home” is, whatever that may mean to you metaphorically. Short verses, simple but packed with meaning, and a meditative type of hook make this a top pick for me. I cannot wait to perform this live in the future!

LYRICS
(Verse 1)  I finally feel like I'm alive, yeah I feel so alive,  and you can see it my eyes, you can see in my eyes, I've been learnin' the journey is the reward and boy I've been runnin' for miles, For the very first time, everything feelin' right,  disappeared into the silence like a thief in the night, Took some solitary time to freshen the mind, That tunnel seems never-ending 'til you let in the light, so keep the fight, yeah

(Chorus)  And I don't wanna play these games, I just wanna break these walls, I just wanna find a place where I belong, Off in the distance now, follow me as I roam, I just wanna find a place that I call home

(Verse 2)  Yeah I got caught up in the game, the lies, But through change, we rise, I realized that the artist in me came out in the darkest of times, What's the purpose if you ain't gettin' wise? So recognize, yeah
